Earthquake Türkiye
by Corporate Communications
|
An earthquake occurred in Türkiye the last April 23. It had a magnitude of 6.2, with its epicenter located in the Sea of Marmara, off the coast of Silivri, near Istanbul. Several hundred people were injured, some of them seriously. The earthquake caused several aftershocks, some reaching magnitudes up to 5.0, and led to mobile communication disruptions and mass evacuations in Istanbul and surrounding cities.
Our Managing Director in Istanbul, Yasin Cetin, reports that TÜV NORD employees are not affected.
The effects of the quake were felt as far away as Bulgaria. TÜV NORD employees were not affected either.
